Whitecomb Range is a private high-country property in New Zealand that brings, in its own words, "long-range shooting, real-world hunting scenarios, guided and unguided experiences, high-country fishing, and a selection of authentic accommodation" onto one site. Five bookable categories, no two of which answer "is this available?" the same way.

#Five Product Lines, One Flow

Accommodation spans The Lodge, Norman's Hut, and The Tram Car — a modern group lodge, a traditional high-country hut sleeping seven, and a back-country tram car with a pot-belly stove and a stack of firewood. Different capacities, different seasons, different guests.

Hunting and fly fishing are sold as experiences rather than inventory, guided or unguided, and constrained by season and by how many parties the terrain can hold at once. Training courses — The Raw Training Course, Precision Rifle Shooting — are multi-day and capped by headcount, and they bundle meals and beds, so a course booking has to reserve accommodation as well as a seat. Competitive events run to a fixed public calendar and are handled by The Events Calendar rather than forced into a product model that was never going to fit them.

The real work was making five different definitions of availability arrive at the same enquiry and checkout path, so a visitor never has to know which system is answering.

#Build

A custom theme rather than a page-builder, PHP templating with Tailwind over the top, styled mobile-first because that is how the audience actually books. WooCommerce now runs live checkout through Stripe, so the property takes payment directly instead of trading emails.
